The Goldcrest Gallery Children’s Corner was introduced to our website in 2022. We have a large collection of vintage artwork for children. Some of the designs are original picture book illustrations, alongside many individual paintings which illustrate classic nursery rhymes and fairy stories.
Children’s Greeting Cards
There is a lovely selection of greeting cards in the Goldcrest Gallery Children’s Corner. These are available as 5″x7″ cards, as well as A4 fine art prints. The clear drawing and soft watercolour are just right for young children. Goldcrest Gallery cards are produced by hand and printed with fade-proof Epson HD pigment inks. They make lovely ‘mini prints’ for your child’s nursery room!
Children’s Picture Books
We first began to produce our original vintage picture books for children in Christmas 2020. ‘A Dragon for Christmas‘, one of our most popular stories, is beautifully illustrated in full colour on every page. The delightful story captures children’s imaginations as they enjoy sharing the book with adults, and listen to the lively rhyming text.
‘The Snippets‘ followed, with cute vintage pictures and an engaging story for the under-5s. As well as full page colour illustrations, there are also drawings in pencil with each page of text in the story.
Our next project was ‘Water Vole’s Diary‘. This dramatic story is richly illustrated in watercolour, with additional sepia drawings. The vignette illustrations are full of interesting details for young children to examine as they listen to the book with an adult. The story includes ‘excerpts’ from Water Vole’s diary, and is ideal for the under-5s.
‘Professor Popple and the Little Furry Creature‘ was a completely different kind of picture book, published by Goldcrest Gallery in 2022. The amusing story has humorous illustrations in full colour throughout. Children are intrigued by the Little Furry Creature’s endearing antics! Older children will enjoy reading the rhyming text themselves.
Our most recent production, ‘Bed & Breakfast‘, tells the hilarious story of a family of mice who suddenly have to accommodate a crowd of unknown visitors. The book has witty illustrations in full colour, and the story is told in comic rhyme.
Children’s Fine Art Prints
We have developed a series of attractive fine art prints, featuring illustrations from our children’s books. Children can now have their favourite characters in a colourful picture for their wall! Our print range also includes paintings of classic nursery rhymes and fairy tales, such as ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears‘.
Printed on archival paper with long-lasting pigment inks, these beautiful and engaging illustrations make lovely gifts!
