About Goldcrest Gallery

Thank you for visiting our online gallery.

There are three generations of artists in our family who have produced work for Goldcrest Gallery.  We are a very small family business, hence the name ‘goldcrest’, which is the smallest bird in Europe!

Our hand-crafted cards were first made for sale in a local village cafe, using vintage designs from our family archive.  In 2020 we developed an online gallery, with a growing range of fine art prints, greeting cards and charity greeting cards.

Each digitalised design is reproduced from a portfolio of hand-painted originals, dating from the early 1950s through to the present day.  It has been an exciting challenge to restore and extend them all digitally, and match the colours to the artworks.  The matte card we use for our greeting cards reproduces the original gouache paint very closely, as well as the smoothness of silk screen printing, for which many of the designs were intended.

Although we hold some cards and notecards in stock, we print all our posters and fine art prints to order, using an Epson Pro-Photo inkjet printer and High-Definition Epson pigment inks.

We have recently published several children’s picture books from our family collection, which have been printed and bound in the UK, and are available through goldcrestgallery.com, waterstones.com, and from Coles Books, Oxfordshire.

We hope you enjoy looking round Goldcrest Gallery!
