There are several lovely card designs in our country cottage greeting card collection which feature English character cottages. The original watercolour paintings are different sizes, but most of them have been printed as 7″x5″ cards. Three of our cottage pictures form a set of A6 cards with front and back illustrations.
Laverstoke
Laverstoke is a pretty Hampshire village. The picture on our card shows a row of delightful Arts & Crafts thatched terraced cottages. The country gardens are laid out in front of the cottages, which makes a particularly idyllic setting in the village. Blossom trees, spring bulbs, winding paths and a well provide an attractive view. There is very little space behind the row of cottages, which back on to a bank with trees. This almost gives the effect of a stage set! Nearby is a crystal-clear stream with a small bridge. Country Cottage
April must be the month when watercolour artists visit pretty rural areas, because this is another lovely painting of a cottage in springtime! Painted in line and wash, this Victorian brick-built lodge cottage has tall chimney stacks, gabled facade and mullioned bay windows. The upper portion of the cottage is rendered in white, with mock-Tudor black beams. Tucked away in the English countryside, the attractive scene of ‘Country Cottage‘ is available as a 7″x5″ card, and is soon to be available as an A4 fine art print.
Set of Three Cottages
The first of our set of A6 card designs shows a charming ‘Thatched Cottage‘ with leadlight windows. It is surrounded by a colourful garden. The reverse of the card reveals the inviting interior of the cottage: a cosy inglenook fireplace, beamed ceiling and rustic furniture.
‘Tudor House‘ has a formal garden setting, with topiary, rose trees and a flagstone path. The interior view on the back of the card shows a spacious entrance hall with a stone fireplace and Tudor furnishings.
The set is completed with our ‘Georgian House‘ design, with its formal facade and neat garden. Through the open fanlight doorway, an elegant entrance hall can be glimpsed, which is shown more clearly on the reverse of this card. The sweeping staircase, tiled floor and chandelier complement the Georgian furniture and ornate ceiling.
